Tokoname ware (常滑焼, Tokoname-yaki) is a type of Japanese pottery, stoneware, and ceramics produced in and around the municipality of Tokoname, Aichi, in central Japan.
Tokoname was the location of one of the Six Ancient Kilns of Japan.

The wide mouth of the kyusu makes it easy to wash and dispose of tea leaves.
Easy to handle
The body of the kyusu has a lid with a thousand steps to prevent it from slipping and is easy to pick up. The handle is shaped for easy gripping.
