What is Noren?
Noren are traditional Japanese fabric dividers hung between rooms, on walls, in doorways, or in windows. Japanese noren usually have one or more vertical slits cut from the bottom to nearly the top of the fabric, allowing for easier passage or viewing. Noren door curtain are rectangular and come in many different materials, sizes, colors, and patterns.
Kakishibuzome
Kakishibuzome or persimmon tannin dyeing has long been a part of the masses’ lives and was used in their everyday living.
With superior waterproof, insect-proof and anti-corrosion properties, kakishibu (persimmon) dye has been painted on all kinds of daily commodities such as fishing nets, linen bags used in sake brewing and umbrellas.
This cool curtain is made of indigo-dyed blur and randomly scattered polka dots.
The raw color left in the center is reminiscent of the light coming through the water drops after the rain, will definately create a beautiful room. Made of 100% linen.
